Robert F. Reynolds, age 87, of Paradise, passed away at the Coatesville VA Medical Center on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. He was the husband of Elaine Murphy Reynolds with whom he celebrated 68 years of marriage on August 30th of this year.

He was born in Cochranville, son of the late Ralph & Pauline Hogg Reynolds. He was a member of Bellevue Presbyterian Church of Gap for over 50 years. He worked as a ­foreman for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 22 years, retiring in 1989. After retirement, he worked part time for Paradise Custom Kitchens until May of this year. He was a veteran of W.W. II, serving in the Navy as a Seaman 2nd Class stationed in Bainbridge, MD. He was lifetime member of Rough & Tumble Engineers Historical Association. He enjoyed restoring Allis- Chalmers tractors.

Surviving besides his wife is a daughter, Beverly A. Reynolds of Tallahassee, FL; one granddaughter, Roberta Jean Thigpen; 4 great grandchildren: Jessica & Nicholas Stephens, Wesley Thigpen III, Anabelle Thigpen; 2 siblings: Ernest husband of Marie Thompson Reynolds of Quarryville, Elizabeth Taylor of New Holland. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Tranchand.

A graveside service will take place from the Calvary Monument Cemetery, 1660 Mine Road, Paradise, PA on Saturday, December 14th, at 11 a.m. with Rev. William S. Davies, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
