John C. Railing
 
John RailingJohn C. Railing, 88, of Conestoga View Retirement Home and formerly of Pequea, entered into rest on Saturday, June 21, 2008 under hospice care.
Born in Pequea, John was the son of the late Andrew and Edna Shenk Railing. An agricultural equipment mechanic, John retired from the former A.L. Herr Equipment Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, landing in Normandy on D-day with Patton's 3rd Army and served the duration until the cessation of hostility. John attended Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church for most of his life. He enjoyed being a part of the daily operation and also being a member of the Rough and Tumble Historical Society in Kinzer.
Surviving are brothers, Rodney S. Railing of Willow Street and Willard D. Railing of Pequea along with seven nieces and nephews. Brothers J. Warren and Glenn E. and a sister, Audrey Campbell preceded John in death.
