Oil sight glasses and magneto mounted on top of crankcase.
These inverted glass bottles are the equivalent of the oil pressure gauge. Oil from the pump is forced up to the sight glass then flows down into the engine, directed to various points by troughs. As long as the operator can see oil moving in the sight glass he knows that the oil pump is working and the engine is getting the necessary lubrication. The only function of the oil pump is to move oil to the top of the engine. From that point on lubrication is by the splash and drip method.
