Threshing - R&T does a great job of demonstrating the harvesting seasons. The annual Threshermen's Reunion always covers threshing from the earliest forms of manual separation of grain from chaff to the huge steam or tractor powered threshing machines of the first quarter of the 21st century.
Parade of Power - Together with threshing demonstrations, the Parade of Power draws the biggest attendance at annual reunions. It's always great to see so many younger men and women as well as their young children participating in events like this at Rough and Tumble. It gives us confidence that these wonderful machines will be operating and demonstrated for many generations not yet born .

Small Gas Engines - One of the most fascinating areas of R&T is the small gas engines. An incredible variety of big, small, vertical and horizontal engines are exhibited powering all sorts of useful machines as well as gadgets set up simply to put a load on the engine and give it something to do.

Stationary Steam Engines - The large stationary steam engines in the Steam Museum building are a sight to behold. Each year new, large engines (one with a twelve foot diameter flywheel) are added to the exhibit.

Large Gas Engines - The large gas engines are fascinating machines previously used to pump water or oil or to power plants and other tasks requiring ample horsepower.

Tips on viewing Photo Albums
Since our album for Day 3 of Steam School 2001, we have been using a "load ahead" feature in our photo albums.
If you use the "Next Photo" link at the top right corner of each photo, then it will pay you to continue looking at the current photo until the activity display at the bottom of your browser indicates the browser is done loading images. Then, when you click "Next Photo", it will appear almost immediately, and the browser will start loading the next sequential image. To put it simply, wait for the browser to complete loading images before clicking the "Next Photo" button.
