Scenes from the Day

Setting up for Corn Shredding - Two gas tractor corn shredders were demonstrated this year. (See last year's Time of Harvest for photos of other harvesting demonstrations.)
Future Cooper Stationary Gas Engine Exhibit - Rough and Tumble owns a 1913 Cooper 495 horsepower Gas Engine that is still as it arrived, in many large pieces. The large concrete foundation for this engine had just been poured during the 2001 Time of Harvest. We look forward to this engine being restored and an operating demonstration at R&T.
Excavating Engines - At this year's Time of Harvest, Ray Fleetwood had his 1922 Erie steam shovel as well as a gas engine excavator in the field on the east end of the grounds.
Saw Mill - The saw mill is always a favorite at R&T and for Time of Harvest we had three power sources associated with the mill.
Steam Engine Pull - Steam Traction Engines generally do a full pull, even going "uphill" on R&T's track. It's always fun to see these engines pulling a real load.
General Scenes of the Day - Too much variety here to classify, these photos are typical of the scenes at Rough and Tumble events.

Tips on viewing Photo Albums
Since our album for Day 3 of Steam School 2001, we have been using a "load ahead" feature in our photo albums.
If you use the "Next Photo" link at the top right corner of each photo, then it will pay you to continue looking at the current photo until the activity display at the bottom of your browser indicates the browser is done loading images. Then, when you click "Next Photo", it will appear almost immediately, and the browser will start loading the next sequential image. To put it simply, wait for the browser to complete loading images before clicking the "Next Photo" button.
